In good weather, Rocky Bay can get busy. People might bring those little disposable barbecues with them, beach towels decorate the space and small children work away with a spade in the sand while the brave ones hop in the waves with their hands up. When the tide is low, there is more beach to go round and if the spirit of adventure grabs you, you can walk around to the right (facing the sea, I mean) and check out the many caves.
If you’re heading out to the bay from the north / Cork, do make a point of stopping at the roadside café in Minane Bridge. They have great ice cream! Ready to go? Here’s a map!
