Nandos

In Cork City, the double-storey Nandos is impressive compared to what we’re used to in South Africa where it’s more of a take-away vibe. It’s got plenty of space with high ceilings, a modern feel and a large menu. Staff usually welcome us and show us to a table with a menu in hand, but then we’re expected to make our order at the counter – usually a starter of olives, a chicken main and mix of side salads, corn on the cob and chips. They have some desserts that look good too (like the peri-peri brownie!), but last time I tried the pasteis de nata, I wasn’t impressed. I don’t have any complaints about their other food though; I’ve eaten here a few times and it’s always good value for money and really tasty. Sadly I don’t have any food photos… I guess I was just very hungry!
