Two of our kick-ass friends, MJ & Ash, travelled all the way from South Africa for a bit of exploration in the North last summer (yes, this blog post is way overdue!) and we look the liberty to spend a few days in Dublin with them. I really enjoyed this visit to Dublin way more than previously (my last blog post wasn’t too positive about the city), especially the free walking tour by New Europe that Ash organised for us! It included a visit to Trinity College and Library (the largest in Ireland, and very magnificent).
We also popped in to have a closer look at the Book of Kells (gospel illustrations from 800 A.D – no photos were allowed, unfortunately), strolled around Temple Bar (Dublin’s cultural quarter) and up and down the Liffey. We saved our visit to the Guinness Storehouse for next time. Instead of captions I wrote out a little checklist of the things we enjoyed visiting most:
