Well worth the drive west, Inchydoney is a lovely beach on the good and bad weather days. It’s actually part of an island that’s connected to the mainland by two causeways. If you’re looking for a good spot for lunch or a pint, visit the quaint nearby town of Clonakilty.

We were lucky to stop at the beach on a particularly warm and sunny evening. The lighting was beautiful and my camera was out! Excuse me if I’ve overdone it with photos of waves but, I was sort of entranced.

Here’s what the beach looks like in winter. The weather was good enough for a nice walk on the beach and a picnic with a view.
