There’s a story behind this elephant. A personal story from a friend, whom I painted it for a few years ago. She didn’t ask me to, I just felt like I should and it was meaningful to her. She hung it in a frame as a reminder.
In all honesty I am not very good at drawing animals. This little elephant chilling in the desert took me ages to draw (the painting was quicker). Doing things badly, repeatedly, is all part of building confidence and learning, little by little. I eventually decided to set myself a challenge earlier this year and start painting and drawing endangered animals (weird ones, animals that I’d never wanted to draw at all)!
