Muizenberg & the 20mm Vivitar

The 20mm Vivitar was one of the lenses that I inherited from my grandfather and has fungus growing inside it. Part of the lens can’t be opened up, but the part that can be has been cleaned. Anyway, it’s all manual focus and exposure and the fungus remaining still gives the photos an experimental feeling with distortion at the edges and lets in lots of light that shouldn’t be there. I like how it forces me to be more creative and have less control of the final image (and of course the crazy lens-flares). I took a few photos on one of our many walks on Muizenberg Beach on a sunny morning; here they are.
