Endangered Animals
There’s a story behind this elephant. A personal story from a friend, whom I painted it for a few years ago. She didn’t ask me to, I just felt like I should and it was meaningful to her. She hung it in a frame as a reminder. In all honesty I am not very good at drawing […]
Fynbos wedding invite
MJ and Ashleigh got married on a beautiful cloudy day last year. I was honoured to be part of their wedding as the photographer and stationery maker It was a challenging brief, but I was happy with how it all turned out. They were very clear about their colour scheme and wanted something with a fynbos […]
Planets in space
Over Easter this year, I ended up spontaneously decorating a few eggs with a Sharpie. I practised a few different patterns and later thought it might be a nice idea to apply them to shapes on watercolour paper. Here they are, carefully painted and drawn.
Delft inspired
I was suddenly inspired by Delftware and the pottery in the Crawford Art Gallery. Later in the day I stopped over at Myo for a cup and tea and since I had my watercolours with me, I was able to paint away!

I should definitely practise expanding my skills to drawing full length characters, but faces are lovely things.
Faith
I get annoyed by people who like to reason things away, because honestly, you just can’t sometimes. And I guess that’s where faith comes into it. I’ve never really made this sort of thing with Photoshop and just did this on a whim of sudden inspiration; I really like how it turned out though.
Mermaid Hair
I’ve been doodling around and trying to improve on drawing hair, almost in a bit of an anime style. The only way to improve is to draw loads of it. I used a range f colours for shading in wax crayon and did my outlines with fine-liner. I wouldn’t naturally draw in such a dewy-eyed style […]
