Macro at Kirstenbosch

A friend and I decided to practise our macro photography at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Newlands one morning. I used a Vivitar macro zoom less made for a film camera (one of my grand-father’s lenses) on my digital SLR and she used her new digital macro lens. I had to play around with exposure and manual focus which was quite a challenge for moving insects and plants moving in the breeze, but I was happy with a few of the shots.

Kirstenbosch is an incredibly beautiful natural space. If you’re ever planning on visiting Cape Town, don’t miss spending an afternoon strolling around the stunning gardens. Having lived in Cape Town for over fifteen years, I can safely say it’s one of my top places to relax at!
